People everywhere. Shorts. Spandex. Sports bras. Hair up. Sunglasses. Running shoes. White tee shirts. It’s the Color Me Rad 5k run.
Now imagine this: coloured chalk being thrown in your face and on your body as your run past each checkpoint. Once you cross the finish line there are people everywhere. People covered in oranges and pinks. People who managed to get more purple or green. Instead of seeing white, you now see colour.
5k ain’t nothing to joke about. Especially at Downsview Park where there are hills and gravel. Seeing all those people at the end though… knowing that all of them spent 10 minutes or 30 minutes or one hour running or walking through explosions of colour just to come out looking like a skittle? That’s the fun part.
