He has done it again. If you don’t know who I am talking about based on the title of this post then you may need to get your head checked. The man is Dallas Green. His band is named City & Colour. In the last month, he has released a new song. It’s name you ask? Of Space and Time.
True to his sound, this song is no less brilliant than all his other work. The lyrics resonate in the soul, the instruments are charged with power, Dallas’ voice is smooth as ever and the harmonies are just as flawless.
The beginning of the song reminds me a bit of John Mayer (dare I compare the two artists?!) with the drum kick. The guitars come in as soon as Dallas begins singing about a murder of crows. Lyrics beautifully written that hint at a slight despair with just the right amount of a love story pull you in the moment the words are sung. The chorus is seamlessly fit into the song, almost imperceptibly until you realize the second verse has begun.
I’ll let you listen to the rest to form your own opinion but, I have to say this: if you don’t know City & Colour, you need to know City & Colour.
