I should have gone into acting. It’s such a beautiful career. Every single day, you get to pretend to be someone else. You immerse yourself in a role and become that person. If you’re a good enough actor, it’s believable. Others see you as that person. You are recognized and awarded for not being yourself. Isn’t that just beautiful?
If you say that you’ve never wanted to be someone else, even for just a day, I’d wager you’re telling a pretty big lie. Pinocchio-sized. Everybody has at least one day where they think to themselves that it would be better to be Natalie Portman, Robert Downey Jr., Johnny Depp, Jennifer Lawrence… whoever it may be. There will always be that moment. Maybe it isn’t even an actor. Perhaps you wish you were Einstein, Roosevelt, Obama, Kate Middleton. Either way, you don’t want to be you.
Acting gives you that freedom. The freedom to be whoever you choose.
I really should have gone into acting.
